Welcome to Year 2
Class Teacher: Mrs Nisar

We extend a warm welcome to our year 2 children and we hope you had a great summer break. We will start with a few reminders. Children will need to bring in their PE kits on Wednesdays every week and make sure that their reading books are brought in every day.
This half term we will be focusing on reading in English and continue learning our phonics. The children will get the chance to read a variety of different texts and write about them. In Maths, children will need to know how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s and they will become confident with this. They will also look at place value, as well as, addition and subtraction. The children will continue to use purple mash this year for computing, so please make sure that they are using this at home too. In Science, we will be learning about diet and exercise and the importance of keeping healthy. Geography, RE and PE will also be taught each week. The children will be learning new knowledge and many new skills.
